Cory and Peaches at Paris Fashion Week

I've never really been a 'fan' of Peaches, in the very broad sense of the word. In fact I cannot stand people who are famous because of their mother/father and have no actual talent of their own. Peaches seems to fit into this category well. While the rest of us are busting our asses; working part-time whilst being in education, saving up so we can travel to a European city via Ryanair, these hipsters are in LDN one week, then Paris oh and then NY the next. And this isn't an exaggeration in the slightest. Where does Cory make money from?

I was even thinking about Roisin Murphy last night, she doesn't sell that many records but she seems to have this jet-set lifestyle and amazing yet expensive clothes (okay so she probably has to return some free clothes). I can't help but feel these 'socialites' have it so bloody easy. I think Cory does have a good sense of style, though I would like her to look less like a heroin addict in the future (ha). The thing is these girls don't have it easy, they're troubled. Cory battles/d depression, Peaches suffered an alleged drug overdose last year. The latter lost her mum to a suicide when she was too young. Cory doesn't even feel close to her family.

So scratch beneath the stylish(?) surface and it's not as good as it seems. These girls have lost childhoods, they don't stay in the same place for too long- their constantly shifting, they have fake hipster friends and there will always be the next big thing e.g. Cory 2.0 etc.

I am writing this and did the collage because it's up to you to make your own mind up. There will be young midde-class impressionable teenagers who will rebel (because their Dad told them no they cannot get that car) and start dressing like Cory because it's "loike sueh cuol." They can afford to buy Chanel bags, then dress like they're homeless. Now that's pretentious.

Speaking of pretentious they're so many girls/young woman on the LDN social scene whose picture should be in the Collins' dictionary next to the word 'pretentious.' Okay so people like Georgia Jagger and Alexa Chung have pretty good taste. But I dunno it's just not realistic.

But is it cool to dress like you don't give a fuck/scruffily, if you took 2 hours to get ready and have the budget of Bill Gates?

No.
