The Saturdays

This is the brand I featured in the previous post. I just spotted these pictures on getty. Rochelle (on the left) and Una's (on the far right picture) dresses are available to buy here: http://www.asos.com/search/pgeSearch.aspx?q=quontum

Inspiration from Alexander Wang

I have featured one of these Quontum dresses (the one on the right to be precise) on this blog before. When I first seen this A/Wang dress for the S/S '09 collection, I thought it was pretty rad' for him- probably because of the splash of colour (turquoise to be precise). Obviously the Quontum dresses are very different from the Wang ones, but I'm kind of feeling this whole block colour thing and I think it works particularly well with the black. So I won't be parading around in a bright 3 coloured dress. The black makes such a difference- in a good way. I would have never have pictured Diane Kruger in this dress but I feel she works it pretty well. It's always great when a certain designer/celebrity/model whoever has a certain trademark or whatever and then they turn around and do something totally different and work against the grain. Not that I think Alex is 'revolutionary' in designing the dress or some of the rest of the S/S collection (as a lot of the stuff is quite typical 'wang') but he deserves credit for thinking outside the box.

Latest purchases from ASOS

I'm always going on about about ASOS and I'm a sucker for sales. I had been dying to find a nice pair of tapered trousers (as I have bought two shirts yesterday- inspired by MKO); first I wanted black, then a charcoal colour and then I thought navy. But I settled for this pair- I never normally go for this light of a pair but I'll see what they're like when I get them tomorrow. They seem to be quite nicely tailored anyway.

I had seen this Sequin sheer blouse back in December in a Look (UK magazine) fashion editorial, it was teamed wth a Dorothy Perkrins blue tulip satin skirt (which I bought) and a layered/tiered multi-coloured ASOS belt (which I never found on their website). I was surprised to see how different it looked on their website (not as nice, I actually thought it was cream in the magazine, not pink), but ah well I still bought it.

I absolutely love a pair of heels and it's been a while (well Saturday I got a pair of Topshop swede ankle boots- 'Agetha' I think in the sale for £40 might I add) since I got a pair. I thought these were quite different- good enough height and black&gold always look good together.

Can't wait for the post tomorrow!xo
