Britney Spears Circus Tour outfits

I'm quite a big fan of BSpears. In fact, 'Baby one more time' was the very first single/record/CD I bought and I've been a fan since then. These outfits were designed by DSquared2 and are pretty provocative to say the least. My favourite is the green military jacket and the red embroidered jacket with blue trim and feathers- Britney has sported a very similar style to this one but it was AMcQ. I'm going to see BritBrit in June at the 02 London. Roll on 3 months!

Cory and Peaches at Paris Fashion Week

I've never really been a 'fan' of Peaches, in the very broad sense of the word. In fact I cannot stand people who are famous because of their mother/father and have no actual talent of their own. Peaches seems to fit into this category well. While the rest of us are busting our asses; working part-time whilst being in education, saving up so we can travel to a European city via Ryanair, these hipsters are in LDN one week, then Paris oh and then NY the next. And this isn't an exaggeration in the slightest. Where does Cory make money from?

I was even thinking about Roisin Murphy last night, she doesn't sell that many records but she seems to have this jet-set lifestyle and amazing yet expensive clothes (okay so she probably has to return some free clothes). I can't help but feel these 'socialites' have it so bloody easy. I think Cory does have a good sense of style, though I would like her to look less like a heroin addict in the future (ha). The thing is these girls don't have it easy, they're troubled. Cory battles/d depression, Peaches suffered an alleged drug overdose last year. The latter lost her mum to a suicide when she was too young. Cory doesn't even feel close to her family.

So scratch beneath the stylish(?) surface and it's not as good as it seems. These girls have lost childhoods, they don't stay in the same place for too long- their constantly shifting, they have fake hipster friends and there will always be the next big thing e.g. Cory 2.0 etc.

I am writing this and did the collage because it's up to you to make your own mind up. There will be young midde-class impressionable teenagers who will rebel (because their Dad told them no they cannot get that car) and start dressing like Cory because it's "loike sueh cuol." They can afford to buy Chanel bags, then dress like they're homeless. Now that's pretentious.

Speaking of pretentious they're so many girls/young woman on the LDN social scene whose picture should be in the Collins' dictionary next to the word 'pretentious.' Okay so people like Georgia Jagger and Alexa Chung have pretty good taste. But I dunno it's just not realistic.

But is it cool to dress like you don't give a fuck/scruffily, if you took 2 hours to get ready and have the budget of Bill Gates?

No.

C.Kane Fall '09

My second favourite collection. I know it was a couple of weeks ago, but I still cannot take in the amazingness of the Scot. Here are a few of my favourites within his collection:

Jeremy Scott- Paris Fashion Week A/W

Who was there? Peaches Geldof& Cory Kennedy, Kanye West& Amber Rose, Uffie, Roisin Murphy, Leigh Lezark& Jordan, Beth Ditto& a fabulously dressed guest, Gareth Pugh& Casey Spooner.

On another note, I am obssessed with Peaches' shoes (who are they by?) and full marks to her for that bold flower-printed ensemble.

Say yes to embellishment/sequins

Sequins is still prominent in Balmain's fall collection (see video below for my favourite by a mile fall collection, so consistent). Also sequins and embellishment are featured in Gucci and Pradas' fall collections.

GMJ

Gerogia May Jagger sits front row at Vivienne Westwood A/W '09 Paris fashion week, Friday 6th March. Jagger called the display "amazing, one of her best ever." She was particularly hankering after the oversized tutus in dusty pink, one of which stood up in stiff ruffles in the back like a duck's bottom. Asked where she might wear such a piece, she responded, wistfully, "Anywhere, everywhere."

This is how you do the suit

Tapered Trousers

I got my asos tapered trousers last week- just because I'm getting into more formal, power dressing. I didn't realise it was/is a significant trend until Whowhatwear made this post. Here are links (below) to pairs of tapered trousers on Topshop, asos and UrbanOutiftters (if you don't have the Phillip Lim budget). I think it is a great trend for trans-seasonal dressing. It's not too wintery or summery so it represents perfectly that change in weather when it's time to put away the scarf and gloves but not time for the Sunnies!

Photoshopping gone wrong!

I was bloody gobsmacked when I seen this picture of Helena Christensen that is in Aprils InStyle magazine. I happen to think that Helena is incredibly beautiful, dresses immensely and looks amazing for her age. So why make her look so awful and not even human-like? How can this actually get 'okayed' for a 'top' magazine? Shame on whoever phooshopped this! Seriously!
I had only ever read one interview with her before this interview (The Sunday Times Style magazine a couple of years ago) and as it turns out she seems an interesting person. Here are a few things she said:
"'I’ve never lived with anyone except my son. 'It’s not like I set out to live like that, but now it would be a big thing to move in with somebody.
'I’m used to my own place, my own things.
'But you know, if I met the right person, I’m sure I’d be like, "Move in tomorrow, put your things everywhere". That would probably work for a while and then I’d need a bit of balance!'
'Age in itself doesn’t freak me out. I’m in better shape than I was at 25 because I’m actually doing something physical, which I never did until two years ago because I was way too lazy.
'I try to go boxing twice a week and I run, but after exactly 21 minutes, I’m ready to lie down and vomit. I’m super-lucky with my metabolism.
'I eat more than anyone I know, so I have to be realistic – that might not always be the situation. 'That’s why I chose really intense training. It was a question of, if I want to continue eating that much, I need to balance it out."

My jackets

Since my sunglasses post I realised I can take pictures with my webcam which is actually in my laptop (if you get me). Sorry about the bad quality. I'm in my Uni house so this is my shabby wardrobe you can see (not that my wardrobe at home is much better). In fact you can't really see the jackets at all, but oh well!
The blogs that I enjoy most are those that mix up the posting to be about a variety of things. Only a handful of bloggers can get away with having every post a post about their outfit. In a personal context, I have only really posted about the stuff I have just bought. It's difficult when you don't have your own camera. Thouh I don't think anyone really reads this blog at all. Again: oh well!

My latest eBay purchases (Part II)

Vintage Rainbow straps Open back navy mini dress

I really couldn't resist this red jacket, the gold buttons add a lot aswell. Gold and red are very rich colours and traditionally associated with the Monarchy.

My latest ASOS purchases- two pairs of shoe boots

I got them in this grey and yellow colour.
*They are all out of stock apparently*

My 98p sunglasses from Primark

Sorry for the awful posing btw, I don't know why either.
